'Author Perumal Murugan has died' is what flashed across the newspapers and the internet in the recent days. Yes, a writer would obviously die if you rob him of his soul- writing. His book Mathorubhagan was BANNED because it depicts the life of a childless couple a century ago based in Tiruchengode, a town which practiced “traditional free, consensual sex rituals” giving childless couples a one-chance opportunity at continuing their lineage.

This writer was made to write an APOLOGY for writing such a work. He also declared that he wouldn't be writing anymore. All the "Perumal Murugans" of this country retorted to such an outrageous action. I, had an opportunity today to witness a protest for the freedom of speech and expression at JNU. All the "Perumal Murugans" argued how they were not the
"Perumal Murugan" and how they could never be one.

Perumal Murugan's statement that he would never be writing again has initiated a revolution. A revolution that is significant for all the writers whose work of art has been banned and thrown into trash because of "supposed" violating thoughts.
