Technology has indeed brought about a big change in the way we do things. Television or "Idiot Box" as it is affectionately called in India used to be an integral part of our lives during the 90's and early years of this millenium. However the INTERNET has brought about a revolution in today's world.

The television had on offer something for everybody, from the grandmother to the kids. At one time we had to wait for our favourite show to be aired and now it is available at the click of a mouse.

I thought let's walk down the memory lane and list some the shows which rings a bell even today.

1. Dekh Bhai Dekh

This is one classic comedy show which will leave you in splits even today. The story depicts the daily life of a joint family. It depicts family relationships in a beautiful way.

Even you remember it fondly. Here is a link to its Youtube Channel. Visit the old times.

2. Shaktimaan

India's own superhero was very popular amongst the children in the 90's. I wonder if you still remember Tamraj Kilvish's line "Andhera Kayam Rahe".

3. Byomkesh Bakshi

If Sherlock Holmes is a cult character, this was the India's own detective. The series is being made into a Bollywood Film Detective Byomkesh Bakshi under the Yashraj Films banner, directed by Dibakar Banerjee and starring Sushant Singh Rajput.

4. Mahabharat

"Main Samay Hoon" is a line I can't forget. This mythological show was a regular feature on Sundays in Indian homes.

5. Hum Paanch

A comic classic of its time. Do you recall Vidya Balan in a geeky avatar in this show?

6. Duck Tales, TaleSpin, Jungle Book, Aladdin

These used to be some of the favourite cartoons of kids. Uncle Scroodge, Baloo, Mowgli, Genie, it is easy to recall these names.

And how can one forget the song "Jungle Jungle baat chali hai ...."

7. Chandrakanta

Two things standout about it. The title song and Kroor Singh (Yakku!!)

8. Chitrahaar

Sundays used to incomplete without this. One could listen to popular Bollywood songs. This has been one of the longest running TV shows.

9. Hip Hip Hurray

School Life attained a new meaning after this show. Teens could relate to this show easily and this was immensely popular amongst them.

10. Office Office

Mussaddilal was a character with whom the common man could empathize. A great sattire on the babudom prevalent in India.
