Nowadays I am hooked to the 'Khamakha' song from Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'. The song is splendidly different and heartwarming. One doesn't get to listen a song of such prominence nowadays, Gulzaar Sahaab's poetry and Vishal Bharadwaj's composition are bound to weave magic when taken together. Lately, this has been the USP of every Vishal Bharadwaj film; they go a long way back.

Coming back to the 'Khamakha' song, there's a lot of specialty in the way it is written. Although, it looks simple but the use of pair of words ('tukbandi' in hindi) distinguishes it from the others. The lyrics are riveting and they carry Gulzaar Saab's signature touch i.e. simplicity, the words have all the magic to imprint on one's heart. I have tried my hands at creating a third stanza for the song, which was indeed tough one to write. I have tried to imitate his style, but that's how you learn. :)
