"Daddy's Here"

Walking through a crowded room is a man dressed in green,
soon he'll finally meet a girl he's been waiting to see.
Every time his boots hit the floor, the anticipation builds.
He's missed too much of her life, while on the battle fields.
As the child is brought to his arms, a tear escapes his joyous eyes,
breaking the promise when he said he's never cry.
He looks down at the little face while smiling ear-to-ear.
He wipes tears from his cheeks while whispering "Daddy's Here"
