The leaves begin to change their hues
As they begin to wilt and crumble
Simplistic beauty in such decay
Strikes me back and leaves me humble
The tree that once sustained the leaves
Now a still and lifeless husk
We shall be as they are one day
As we become the dirt and dust
The timeless cycle always turning
In our deaths, more life shall thrive
This observance of our one true fate
Reminds me that I am alive
I watch the wind strip the tree
As leaves clutter around
Reminded of the day I'll cease to exist
And fade into the ground
