In this wonderful place I lie,
On a stone filled with roses.
The sun burns my face down,
A fortified dignity lost in frown.
Bullets ricochet in the air,
The suave killer goes haywire.
To my doom he addresses a letter,
A pacemaker dissolved for better.
In this wonderful place I lie,
The fern is green with hope of few.
The butterfly speaks with truth,
Sparkling wings tossing with freedom.
I extract a moment from another,
Dissect it with all my might.
The blood turns cold in seconds,
I pass on, hidden from life's eyesight.
