I’ve seen some powerful kids fight disease and adversity, embodying more life than someone I could identify at their apex. At the other end of the spectrum I’ve seen some powerful old people who have minds so sharp, there is no lacking in mental vitality in them, indeed they are burning their birthday candle.I’ve seen some of them live as hard as they could up until the final moment and then, flatline!
Have you ever heard that phrase? “We die a little bit every day.” How can that be the case? It seems to be in direct odds with, “Every day we are one step closer to dying.” So what is it?
Maybe this is the time when we are children. Is it possible that we are suddenly born with all the life power we will ever have and we just expend it like disposable batteries, or do we build up our life energy until we reach some equilibrium? Perhaps we hump our way up to the top and then there is a brief pause where we no longer live but we no longer die, we just exist, that must be the apex. I wonder when we reach that apex, would you even know it if you were there? As for me, I think I will return to my initial thoughts. I don’t like to dwell on thoughts of dying. Rather, I shall focus on living, with the living. “We LIVE a little bit every day.” “Every day we are one step closer to LIVING.”

Maybe if we live it right, we will live forever, somewhere....
