CHILD IS THE FATHER OF MAN

A child was playing. Looking at him, an observant matured man speaks to himself: Look at that boy. Look, how silly his behaviour is. At the same instant, the child also thinks to himself: Look at that man, that old guy. How silly he is. He thinks very great of himself. Each thinks of the other from his own frame of reference. They forget that the difference is the difference in age.
