Too stressed while returning from her office. Her life felt just so complicated and only she was the main culprit. She couldn’t hold anyone else responsible. The things she had done were all just wracking her nervous system. No chocolates, no cheesy stuff, no pastries were gonna take away the pain this time. And ...

Abha opened her eyes into darkness and the feeling of unfamiliarity. She didn’t understand where she was. Totally clueless. And her headache was damn splitting. Like drums beating in her eardrums. She tried to remember, to hold on to a thought that what had happened but she again drifted away.

She opened her eyes again and it was now too lighted. She felt pain shoot up everywhere, at all the muscles of her body. She didn’t notice a guy seated in the corner of the room on a sofa working on his laptop. Trying to make an effort to sit, she hit the nearby flower vase on the table and it just shattered. Abhay flicked his eyes to the pieces of the vase all over the floor and then his eyes flickered over the girl on the hospital bed. His wife. And in a quick movement of putting his laptop aside on sofa, standing up, he moved near her.

Abha was confused. Abhay had just told her that a car had hit her near her office and she had woken up after 3 days. She wondered how come he was here and not her parents? Why were they not in sight? Had he not informed them? Yet? She knew her parents loved her a lot and 3 days were too long a time gap to not come to meet her. They could never see her even a single bit sad. Like absolutely pampering parents. She was feeling better now. She asked Abhay about her mobile without which she always felt her life to come to a standstill. Sachchi mei. Her life revolved all around her mobile. Talking to this person. That person. Timepass. Mobile games. Apps, in fact. Messaging. Abhay looked around but then silently offered her his mobile since her mobile was already broken in that accident.

She called her mom and she was relieved. Her mom was like happy and that she is in much better shape now and that Abhay is there to take care of her. And she was like since when they have started relying on him so much. But she didn’t say anything.

It was 5 more days in hospital. 5 long days. And Abha used to be so much missing her mobile all the while whenever Abhay was away for even some time that he bought her a new one and got back both of her old sims renewed. And that’s how the first call she got was. “Baby, where are you? I am trying to reach you since days, even Ridhi had not responded back to me about you when I contacted her on facebook”, so spoke a guy in a very concerned frantic voice. And she was like huh, disoriented for a while. However she regained her composure and asked “who is this? I think it’s a wrong number.” Shheyy, first call and already wrong number, how useless, thus she thought. But the guy persisted, “no no, what joke are you cracking this time. I am so frantic with staying out of touch with you since so many days. Are you ok?” She cut the call and didn’t pick up the calls from the same number which continued to ring one after the other. She put it on silent and went off to sleep. In retrospect however she wondered how Ridhi, her best friend’s name didn’t strike a chord in her memory lane. May be that was because she was still recovering.

Abha woke up again in the night and there was Abhay again with dinner and all ready. He was waking her up. His hair looked all tussled up with worries and she knew he took really good care of his hair in all prim and proper position. She asked the date to find out how many days she has lost from her life and it was 2nd June. It was all good and normal and the next day she was going back to her flat.

She checked her mobile at night and there were innumerable messages from the same afternoon wrong number:
[14:17] “Why are you not picking my call?”
[14:38] “Where are you? Is Abhay with you right now?”
[14:58] “Baby, everything ok? Please call me or message me as soon as you can.”
[15:09] “I love you loads. Muuaaaaah”
[15:32] “If you don’t want to come or there is an issue to meet me this time, it’s ok, I can cancel the tickets for now. We can meet when I am back to your city in a week or so, supposedly my office trip again.”
[15:48] “No issues at your home naa because of me?? Please, I am worried.”
And she wondered again, “Woooaaaahhhh….What just happened? Who is this guy?” But she kept these to herself and didn’t even mention this to Abhay for he would have gone ballistic with just the baby word and without the mention of this love statement from this random guy. She didn’t respond back of course.

P.S: This writer has a very bad story telling habit. She doesn’t know how to complete stories and it’s like always hanging in the middle for it usually gets too painful for her in the end. But this time, another part coming soon :)
