Whenever people hear the word gay, the first thing they think is a man dressed in girl's clothes. Come on, this is not the fact. Just because some Bollywood movies depicted homosexuals like that doesn't mean every community people are same. But the fact is, it's hard to bring out that image from people's mind.
This is the reason there are many homosexuals who prefer to be in closet. It's not their fault. They simply fear what society will think, and how will they react towards their parents. This fear of society's reaction keeps many homosexuals in closet and they get married just to avoid any cross questions. They try to live a normal life surpassing their inner feelings.
For me, the word 'gay' means another way to express love. We have heard a lot that love is blind and it doesn't differentiate between anything. Then why does love suddenly gets sight when it comes to homosexuality? A famous dialogue from 'Dostana' explains it. When Priyanak Chopra tells Kiron Kher that love is blind, Kiron replies that it is not that blind that it can't differentiate between man and a woman.
Many of you may agree that love is pure and it happens from heart. Science can't explain why we feel something special for someone. There may be various unknown reasons for it, but one thing is for sure that it's pure. You can't feel special for someone just because he's handsome, or rich or a celebrity. That is not love. Love happens with a person for the way he/she is.
We just try to make things complicated by putting lots of terms and conditions in everything we do. Whereas love is simple without any terms and conditions. You just a person, and that's it. There is no 'if' or 'but' or 'what' and 'how'. So, don't think that being homosexual is a bad or a crime. It's just another word for 'LOVE'.

I had written a poem on this which was much criticised. People don't seem to understand.
