ONCE THERE LIVED A MAN WHO HAD TWO WIVES. HE ASKED HIS FIRST WIFE TO LEAVE THE HOUSE AND GO AWAY. HIS WIFE OBEYED HIM. THE SECOND WIFE LIVED A COMFORTABLE LIFE WHERE AS THE FIRST WIFE LIVED IN A SMALL COTTAGE AND SOLD COTTON TO EARN HER LIVLIHOOD. BOTH THE WIFE HAD ONE DAUGHTER EACH. THE NAME OF THE FIRST WIFE’S DAUGHTER WAS ANJALI WHEREAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE SECOND WIFE WAS NAMED AS NAINA.

ONE DAY ANJALI HAD KEPT COTTON OUTSIDE HER HOUSE FOR DRYING. A STRONG WIND BLEW THEM. THE COTTON WAS VERY VALUABLE FOR THE GIRL SO SHE RAN AFTER THE WIND TO CATCH IT. ON HER WAY SHE MET A FAIRY. ON HEARING HER PROBLEM SHE TOOK ANJALI TO THE FAIRY GOD MOTHER.

GODMOTHER TOOK HER TO A ROOM WITH ALL LUXURIOUS BEAUTY PRODUCTS BUT ANJALI CHOSE A SIMPLE SOAP. THEN SHE TOOK HER TO ROOM WITH FULL OF ROYAL GOWNS AND DRESSES BUT SHE CHOSE A SIMPLE DRESS.

“MOTHER I HAVE TAKEN A BATH NOW RETURN MY COTTON.”
“HAVE SOME FOOD.”

THEN SHE TOOK ANJALI TO A ROOM FULL OF DELICIOUS FOOD BUT SHE ONLY ATE A SMALL BITE OF THE FOOD.


“MOTHER I HAVE TAKEN FOOD NOW RETURN MY COTTON.”
“LETS GO ANJALI.”

SHE TOOK ANJALI TO A ROOM FULL OF BASKETS FULL OF COTTON AND ASKED HER TO CHOOSE ONE. SHE CHOOSED A SMALL BASKET AND GOD MOTHER SENT HER BACK HOME. ON OPENING THE BASKET SHE FOUND THAT IT WAS FILLED WITH DIAMOND AND GOLD.

WHEN NAINA HEARD THIS SHE ALSO RAN ALONG THE WIND TO CATCH THE COOTON. THE FAIRY TOOK HER TO THE FAIRY GOD MOTHER.

“WHAT DO YOU WANT?”
“EVERY THING YOU GAVE TO ANJALI.”
“OK. FIRST TAKE A BATH.”

GODMOTHER TOOK HER TO A ROOM WITH ALL LUXURIOUS BEAUTY PRODUCTS AND NAINA CHOSE THE MOST COSTLY SOAP. THEN SHE TOOK HER TO ROOM WITH FULL OF ROYAL GOWNS AND DRESSES AND SHE CHOSE A ROYAL DRESS MADE OF PURE SILK.

THEN NAINA WAS TAKEN TO THE DINING ROOM
NAINA ATE ALMOST EVERY DELICIOUS FOOD AND CHOSE THE BIGGEST BASKET.

AFTER OPENING THE BASKET SHE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A SNAKE WHO BIT NAINA AND HER MOTHER. THEY BOTH DIED. THE MAN CAME TO HIS FIRST WIFE’S HOUSE AND TOOK ANJALI AND HER MOTHER TO HIS HOUSE. THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER.
