I’m here

I stand where I’ve always been.
Always noticed but never seen.
You look onward, past my eye,
To a somewhat brighter sky.
Its possible to say I stand in fear,
But nonetheless I’m always here.

There is something deep inside,
Swirling like the ripping tide.
I close my eyes and compose myself.
Put the pain upon the self.
You look beyond but it’s still near,
and nonetheless I’m always here.

I’m the normal, the everyday,
here to help you on your way.
You stand proud, hold up your head.
be unaware of the tear I shed.
But that is all a separate sphere,
and nonetheless I’m always here.

Shots are fired but I stand tall.
Shall not back up, against the wall.
I stare and you and see that spark,
Smiling at your last remark.
I will be hurt and I stand in fear,
But nonetheless I’m always here.

I stand with you, out in the rain,
Knowing you don’t feel the same.
I’ve bottled feelings up inside,
Something very hard to hide.
But here I am with you my dear,
And nonetheless I’m always here.
