It's not just a song...

"Woh hote hain na, cheap statuses, jismein log songs ke lyrics daal dete hain."
I heard some guy saying this as he crossed me as I was returning from the library one day. Felt like giving him one big punch!

I'm sorry, whoever you were, but you've got it totally wrong. A song is not just a song. It is an art piece, of supreme value, with the music delicately and gently articulated by a music composer, and a selection of words carefully hand-picked by the lyricist.

And if I express my admiration for their work openly through the apparently wonderful medium that seems to be bringing us closer and 'in touch', Facebook, then it certainly isn't cheap or desperate of me; Freedom of Speech, as some would call it.
