I met death,
For your sake.
In the gift,
I did a double take.
Twenty and four,
I was loud to ponder.
Grey robes of silk,
Hanging in curtains of red.
My meeting was sudden,
Effortless and swift.
Before I knew I was lighter,
As light as feather adrift.
World became one,
Body became two.
Last thought was of parents,
Before they disappeared from view.
Your guilt is your crime,
You shook hand with death divine.
I lie lifeless on the footpath of life,
I curse thee for making friendship a knife.
