Mother India has attained freedom
But mothers in India are still clutched in chains, and we proudly say we are independent.

Mother India is worshipped
But mothers in India still bear hardships.

We celebrate the homecoming of Maa Durga
But beat our wife for petty reasons.

We are filled with love for our sister
But filled with lewd for others' sisters.

We want a caring wife
But we don't want a daughter.

We are happy when a cow gives birth to a female calf
But sad when a woman gives birth to a girl.

India is an incredible nation... where we are free , yet shackled.
