There was a cool breeze which made the night chilly. The stars were like small dots of different colors, beautifying the sky. There was hardly any movement on the narrow street ; just the two of us.
I walked side-by-side with her, quietly enjoying every moments in her company. Despite that, I was unhappy that the lovely evening was about to end. We had been to the cinema and we were on the way to her house. I was really tempted to hold her hand, though I would not dare in fear she might be frightened by the move.
"hey, hmm, I enjoyed the evening with ya. Thanks for coming,"I said as we reached in front of her house.
"I enjoyed it too", was her reply.
We both seemed to be in a total loss of words. So, I decided to break the silence.
"I guess its time we say goodbye", I said smiling.
"Don't I get a goodnight kiss?", she asked suddenly.
I was surprised, obviously not ready for those words. I remained still, not knowing what to do.
"Scared?", she asked.
"yea, I was not exactly expecting that", I replied, suddenly starting to feel dumb.
"Its OK, Maybe next time you will be prepared and surely braver", She said, unlocking the door and going inside, closing it behind her.
I remained rooted in front of her house for some minutes. "How could I be so dumb? Why did I refused to kiss?", I pondered. Then, slowly I
walked my way home.
So freaking dumb I was, Wasn't I????
