It was the peak of the winters and the night was cold and merciless as ever. The prince of the night was out again in search of his prey, in desire for blood. So he wandered in the woods. He wandered alone, soaked in his loneliness and his thirst. He wandered and wandered but no one was to be found today. It was late. His throat went dry and thirsty did he felt. Disappointed, he went back to the graveyard located somewhere in the woods and sat besides his grave from where he wakes up from his sleep every night."This skin is cold and this is heart is dead. Conscience ain't working and a soul, away which fled," said the vampire while he looked at his own decades old grave. He started feeling weak and helpless without blood. He stared giving up after the hours of just wandering. May be the night has nothing to give him this time. Or may be not! Suddenly he heard a strange sound. The sound it was rhythmic, melodious. The sound was that of a violin! "Violin? In the middle of the night? And that too in the forbidden woods?" wondered the vampire to himself. He had to find out who this stupid actually was to invite his death by doing such thing. A thirsty and a little confused vampire set himself out of the graveyard and started following the tune. The tune! It would get more deep, sad and depressing with its each note. Like someone lamenting over his painful past. As the vampire followed it he found himself into the deeper part of the woods. He didn't knew from where the sound was coming but one thing was for sure he was getting closer to it with his each step. The tune was getting louder and louder. It was coming to life. His vicious eyes were searching for his prey all around. He then finally found the source of that tune. He could see a tree, behind which the two hands were playing the violin. A menace smile was spread all over his face. He went closer to have a good look at his prey. To his surprise it was not a man but fine young woman drowned in the tune of the violin which she was playing with her eyes shut. Her face and attire resembled the aura of a wealthy woman. A glowing innocent face with a perfectly tied hair and a red gown with no stains. Perfectly flawless, a face which can deaden the all charm of outward world. She opened her eyes this instant when she felt the presence of vampire standing in front of her. It seemed like she was awake from a deep sleep. Her eyes went wide and her face bewildered. Of course the charm of the prince of the night didn't allowed her to speak. She was captivated like every one of his prey. But her eyes suggested that, that she was scared and wasn't aware of the fact the Forrest being forbidden. The steps of vampire automatically paced towards her. He proceeded to quench his thirst placing his hand around her neck and was about to dug his teeth into her neck. But stopped. Their was something which stopped him from doing so. But the woman was still breathing heavily out of fear. First time ever, the vampire regretted his existence on earth even after his death, he cursed upon the this act of nature. He seemed to be suffocated by his own cold breath. While the woman was lost in his seductive eyes, ready for the sacrifice. Her warm flesh could feel the cold breath of his and his breath could feel the warmth of her body. This was the moment when the thirst for the blood started taking over him. Their was an impulse in him to dug his teeth into her. But he stepped away! He moved away! He fell on his knees. He hit his fist hard on a yew tree. "Run! Go away lady! And never show me your face again!!" he yelled at the woman desperately wanting her to disappear before he could harm her. She ran away............
"What was that?! How can a beast so cold have a feeling for his prey!? No! I won't let this happen to me. I won't ...... ever!" said the vampire taking an oath to himself. That night he went to his grave weak and thirsty. He sank himself into the arms of the darkness but this time he hopped never to experience such ghastly feeling of pity for his prey again. But his destiny had something else in store for him, for that feeling he experienced earlier was not actually just the feeling of pity, it was something else......
