This is the story of an old fella.
In his final days of solitude, he seeks redemption. And he needs to do this before he gets swallowed in the darkness that is inching on to him. On this path to redemption, he is visited by a raven. And it sings a song to the old man. It brings back memories of his sister who died when she was very young. It reminds him of the songs she would sing to him, and how his darkness got swallowed by the light of her voice. He sees this raven as her calling to the other side. And the raven flys away.
He wants to hear raven sing. It was the only thing that could redeem him. So he plans and lays down a trap. The raven comes flying around on the path, and gets trapped in the trap. In a cage made of wood, there lies the raven. The old man wants to hear her sing, but she would just stair back. He tries hard, and the darkness starts closing on to him. If he could just make her sing once, he would be redeemed. His sister would facilitate his journey to the other side. But, the raven refuses to sing.
It is now, that he realizes that the path he seeks is as fictitious as his existence. And then he starts walking down the ice. He is thinking
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
