So we go to birthdays, parties, anniversaries etc etc. But mostly we never go empty handed. We always carry gifts/presents with us dont we?
Nobody wants to be seen as cheap. Not me at-least. You know what real present/gift is??

On Wikipedia i found this :
A gift/present is an item given to someone without the expectation of payment. Gift-giving might involve an expectation of reciprocity, a gift is meant to be free.

Instead of buying something expensive and worthless you would like to give some person, give the person something that is yours.
A Gift.
A sign of respect for the person before you, asking him to understand how important it is to be by his side. Now he has a small part of you with him, which you gave him with your free, spontaneous will. Or write it on a paper with the gift wrapped by its side that why is the particular thing so important to you and what it means to you & the specific reason you giving/passing on to the person.

And if suppose you give the person a particular thing as mentioned above and he/she doesn't respect it, then the person doesn't deserve a gift at all.
So next time if you go to a birthday party or a function, keep these small things in your mind and decide your gift.
