When all is quiet and clear,
No one around to fear,
A door opens so slowly,
A tear comes out so lonely.

As the night proceeds,
The heart starts to weep,
The pain through the day,
But refuses to stay.

The sobs and the sniffles,
The fights and the trifles,
All have come to life,
Alas no hand to wipe.

And as it all gets empty,
Tales to tell in plenty,
Time refuses to fly,
Even as the eyes go dry

Now tired and spent,
The mind knows no end,
With hope still alive,
Readies for the next day of life.
