Why me?

I stood for what is right,
But life slapped me hard tight!
I spoke what's true,
It brought me troubles I never knew!
I fought for the poor,
But I got the tag of an evil doer!
I then think of giving everything up,
Trade this burden for an easier cup!
Whenever I ask myself why me?
Wish I could say, try me!
