I wish I was a bird with pink feathers
Whose chains were opened by some one
Who broke her old, brown cage
And left her to compete with the sun

I wish I was a white cloud
Allowed to float in the sky
Hour after hour with the
Birds I could fly

I wish I was a wave
In the vast sea
No one to disturb
Just the water and me.

I wish I was a small lane
Or a big, large road
I could lead the traveller to anywhere
With no one to cut me with a sword

I wish that I could peep from the
Bookshelf being an old book
People could smell me or even
Take a good look.

But alas I am of no importance to men
Only because I am a big, grand banyan tree
Unaware I deserve much more men just
Cut and use me for free.
