You are all I have,
A jewel amidst rubble.
A tiny hand of flesh,
A small breath of joy.
When I held you first,
I was for a moment lost.
Whether to laugh or cry,
I knew nothing of self.
Your tiny zigzag footsteps,
Your hand claps while amused.
The food fallen on your shirt,
The soiled face of mischief.
You are all I have,
For you are my trust and faith.
My pride and my belief,
All of me resides in you.
As I grow old with shaking hands,
I know you will hold me strong.
As I grow feeble with blurry vision,
I know you will be my sight.
I am your friend,my dear child,
You are my life, agile yet mild.
